Has anyone else noticed a surge in comment spam, over the last month or so, or have I just become unbearably sexy to some kind of algorithm which calculates desirability of spam placement?

I finally got so fed up with peoples' un-readable lj layouts that I made a script that reloads specified journals with ?format=light, and appends ?format=light to links within that lj to the same subdomain (the same lj). This might give some false positives for ljs that use the user.livejournal subdomain, and link to other ljs on the same ( Read more... )

But with much cussing, I've gotten lj instant tag to work on insane journal. It's quite a nice script and much handier than lj's default method of allowing tagging, IMHO, so here it is with my changes

Thanks to piehead (and who was that masked man?) I've got my style=not-mine script working, so for anyone interested, the relevant bit is under the cut. Paste it into a text file, name it something.user.js and open it in firefox. (Assuming you already have greasemonkey installed.)

Okay, so I've been using a Greasemonkey script to remove ?style=mine from links because I'm one of the two people on lj who doesn't like it. (I click on a link then think, "WTF? Just discovered a friendsmap on lj_nifty that does what I've been wishing someone would do for a long time: integrate your friends' locations with google maps, so you can see who lives near you!  (Turns out, no one lives near me.)
